A trained teppanyaki chef comes to your beach house, rental cottage, condo, or private patio in Brigantine with a portable grill, all the food, and a full restaurant-quality show — cooked live in front of your guests. No deposit. Pay after the meal.
Brigantine is Atlantic City's quieter neighbor — a barrier island connected by one bridge, home to Brigantine Lighthouse, a surf community, and a stretch of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge on the north end. The residential-rental scene here is deliberately calmer than AC: families who want the ocean without the boardwalk noise, surfers who wake up early, birders who watch osprey nests in the marsh. Private-event demand skews toward intimate family gatherings and small milestone celebrations — 8 to 25 guest events, usually on a back deck facing the ocean or bay.
The private-event patterns here are specific — here's how a hibachi chef fits each of them:
Brigantine's smaller rental scene lends itself to 8–20 guest events. Grandparents' birthday, cousin reunion, quieter engagement dinner — the vibe here is calm.
Brigantine has a small but loyal surf community. Post-session dinner on the deck, everyone still salty from the water, chef running the grill — this is a Brigantine specialty.
West-facing bayfront rentals get incredible sunset light. Book us for an early evening slot and the flames match the sky.
Brigantine's quiet beach houses host a good number of 20–30 guest beach weddings. Rehearsal dinner the night before with a private hibachi chef is a natural fit.
Couples who want a private shore weekend without AC crowds pick Brigantine. Chef comes to the rental, no crowds, no reservation stress.

Most Brigantine-area events happen at rental properties — here's what makes each type work smoothly:
Any beach house or rental cottage: chef sets up on the back deck, patio, or driveway. We need about 8×8 ft of outdoor clearance for the grill and no low-hanging fabric awnings above.
Airbnb / VRBO / private rentals: policies on open-flame cooking vary host by host. Always send the host a quick message before booking us — most say yes, but it's worth confirming.
**One bridge in, one bridge out:** Brigantine has a single access road from AC — plan for slower traffic on summer Saturday afternoons. **Bayfront vs. oceanfront:** both work for setup, but bayfront typically has less wind (helpful for the grill). **National Wildlife Refuge** covers the northern tip — events happen at private rentals, not in the refuge.
Brigantine is a coastal town — the same ocean breeze that makes it beautiful can affect an outdoor grill event. Here's what we plan around:
| Condition | What happens |
|---|---|
| Clear day · wind under 15 mph | Perfect · full outdoor show |
| Wind 15–20 mph | We use wind screens · full show continues |
| Wind over 20 mph sustained | Need a tent, gazebo, or covered patio |
| Light rain | Covered patio, garage with door open, or move indoors with ventilation |
| Heavy rain / thunderstorm | Free reschedule with 48+ hrs notice |
| Hurricane / tropical storm (June–Nov) | Free reschedule regardless of notice window |
Your responsibility: if your rental doesn't have a covered outdoor area and forecast calls for wind or rain, ask the host if the grill can go in a garage with the door open, or plan a rain-date buffer.

Chef arrives 15 min early. Setup + cook + cleanup runs about 90 minutes door-to-door for most events.
Yes — Brigantine is in our regular Atlantic County service area. Travel fee is $80 (about 65 miles from our Old City Philadelphia base, including the bridge crossing from AC). No deposit — pay after service.
Most single-family Brigantine rentals have a back deck or side yard that works well for our grill (8×8 ft of clearance is ideal). Some smaller condos have limited outdoor space — check with your rental host before booking.
Our party minimum is $500 food total — that works out to about 10 adults on Package 1 or a smaller group with premium upgrades. For 8 adults and 3 kids, you're right at the minimum. Under that, we recommend a Cape May B&B chef or texting us for a special quote.
About 90 minutes door-to-door: chef arrives 15 min early to set up, ~75 minutes of cooking / show, then cleanup at the grill station. Most events run 6:00–7:30pm or 7:00–8:30pm on summer weekends.
Brigantine beaches don't allow open-flame cooking during summer season. But most Brigantine rentals have a back deck facing the ocean or bay — you get the view without the permit issue.
Winds under 20 mph are fine (we use wind screens for 15–20 mph). If forecast is over 20 mph sustained, we'll need a tent, gazebo, or covered patio. Bayfront rentals often have less wind than oceanfront — plan accordingly.
